Director John Singleton Died of a Stroke Caused by Hypertension

Director John Singleton died of a stroke caused by hypertension. 40 percent of African Americans have hypertension and yes it is the silent killer. This is one reason why the average black man has a much shorter lifespan than a Caucasian man. It is genetic and prevalent. My mentor Dr Elijah Saunders at University of Maryland spent his lifetime studying hypertension and bringing awareness of hypertension into the African American community. Check your blood pressure, go to the doctor and take your blood pressure meds. RIP!
