Lower Extremity Venous Doppler
Amelia Heart & Vascular Center is a respected leader in vascular medicine serving the Northern Virginia area.
A lower extremity venous doppler is a test used to analyze circulation in the veins of your legs. This test is often performed to rule out DVT (Deep vein thrombosis), which are clots that can form in the leg veins. It can also determine how well the veins in your legs pump blood back toward the heart. Patients usually have this study due to leg cramping, swelling in the legs, redness or pain in the legs, history of smoking, history of diabetes, history of vascular surgery, history of clots, or obesity.
